Computer Support Course
Details
The program is
designed to prepare the student for an entry level position in
computer technology to maintain and support Personal Computer
(PC) hardware, network hardware, operating systems, routers,
switches, and other peripheral equipment. The graduate will be
prepared to provide individuals or corporate staff with support
in person, via telephone, or from a remote location. They will
be able to provide support in both the
Active Directory® network environment, and Windows XP
Home edition in a workgroup environment. Graduates will also
acquire the skills necessary to troubleshoot basic problems
related to configuring and maintaining applications such as
Microsoft Office®, Outlook Express®, and
Internet Explorer®. Graduates will also receive
hands-on training to configure Cisco switches and routers in
multiprotocol internetworks. Graduates will assemble and
configure Cisco equipment to establish appropriate WAN network
connections and enable protocols and technologies that allow
traffic flow between sites.

This is an accelerated program in advancing computer and
information technology designed to prepare the graduate to
function as a specialist in such work settings as government
agencies, computer firms, and/or private businesses. The graduate
will learn to assess the computer and information security needs
of small and large computer and network systems, recommend
safeguard solutions, and assist in managing the implementation and
maintenance of LAN and WAN systems. and In addition to
preparation as a computer support specialist, the program will
provide hands-on training in various skills including internet
security, router security, Windows security, intrusion detection,
firewalls, and cryptography.
COMPUTER SUPPORT AND

This is an extended program in advancing computer and information
technology designed to prepare the graduate to function as a
specialist in such work settings as government agencies, computer
firms, and/or private businesses. The graduate will learn to

medium, and large computer and network systems, recommend
safeguard solutions, and assist in managing the implementation and
maintenance of LAN and WAN systems. In addition to preparation as
a computer support specialist, the program will provide hands-on
training in various skills including computer hardware,
networking, operating systems, application software, internet
security, router security, Windows security, intrusion detection,
and firewalls.
